11. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
CommentaryThis indicates that land plant life was the first life on Earth, contrary to the theory of microbe to man evolution, which places single cell sea life first..
The implication of the verses is not only God creating the plants but also caused it to grow rapidly. This based on the one day time frame.
Also note the sun did not yet exist; being created on day four; these plants were still bathed in the light that would become the Cosmic Background Radiation.
