Food in the Garden of Eden

Genesis 2:15-16
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:


Commentary
Man is place in the garden to tend it. This indicates that work proceeds man's fall. He is told the he may freely eat of threes of the garden as payment. This is also further support earlier indications of man originally vegetarian.
