CommentaryThis is the creation of the first woman; Eve. What is interesting about God using a rib is if that if it is removed while leaving the periosteum; a membrane around the rib, it will grow back.
This strongly supports the historical nature of this account since it is unlikely that a 1st or 2nd millennium B.C. writer would know this fact or make the right choice by chance.
