Mitochondrial Eve

Mitochondrial Eve  is commonly reported as having lived 100,000 - 200,000 years ago but hat claim is based on a mutation rate that assumes we had a common ancetor with chimps 5 million years ago but direct mesurments of the mutation rate produces a date fo about 10,000 years. This 10,000 year figure is consitant with the biblical account but not microbe to man evolution.

When you look a recent genetic data is is amazing how well it supports the Biblical accounts of Adam and Eve; The Flood; and the dispersion from Babel. Once You strip away the Evolutionary assumptions human DNA patterns are a perfect match to the Biblical account.

Despite the fact that Evolutionists interpret Mitochondrial and Y chromosome DNA based on Evolution and have actually used the data to attack creationists, the data actually provides dramatic support for Biblical creation. Furthermore it supports the Biblical dispersion from Babel because when you start in Iraq where .Babel was located you find a nice three way split of  Mitochondrial and Y chromosome DNA just as predicted by the Biblical account.

When these events occurred Eve had not yet been created. God creates some additional animals in front of Adam so he could see God do it. God then has Adam name each kind of animal. This naturally raises the question of “Could Adam have named all these animals in one day?”


It has been estimated that Adam would probably have only needed to name some 2,500 kinds of animals. However to allow for some unknown kinds lets make it 3,000 kinds of animals so at one every five seconds Adam could have finished the task in 4 hours and 10 minutes.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Commentary

This is the creation of the first woman; Eve. What is interesting about God using a rib is if that if it is removed while leaving the periosteum; a membrane around the rib, it will grow back.

This strongly supports the historical nature of this account since it is unlikely that a 1^st or 2^nd millennium B.C. writer would know this fact or make the right choice by chance.

Adam Names the Animals

Genesis 2:19-20

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Commentary

Before this question can be answered it is necessary to know the number of different kinds of animals Adam had to count.  First of all Adam did not have to name millions of species of animals, since “kind” in these verses does not equate to specie, but ether genus or family. Second these were land animals so Adam did not have to name fish and other aquatic animals.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Commentary

This describes the creation of man. God formed a body out of the elements of the ground, clearly runs contrary to the claim that we evolved from ape like creatures. This shows that General Evolution theory and the Biblical account are incompatible. Despite the unquestioning way Evolution is often presented it is highly questionable and evidence given for human Evolution is not as solid as it is presented to be. Evolutionists interpret the fossil through the lens of General Evolution theory and there for they see Evolution in what they find, but when Creationists look at the same raw data through the lens of Creation theory they often see a different picture.
